Call me Jocelyn (not Ishmael). I’ve got a PhD and a major case of academic remorse. I’m a writer, slow reader, acquisitions editor, and A+ procrastinator. I envisioned The Book Hooker to be a place for collecting musings, news, tips, and any conversations that seem relevant to me or my friends/authors as we make our way through the world of words.
(And by the way, the name “book hooker” is certainly a joke. I received this nickname many years ago, when one of my first publishing internships paid me in books instead of money. If you were hoping to “book a hooker” here, I’m afraid you’re in the wrong place.)
Cheers, and thanks for stopping by!
